In the Beginning was the Word…

It’s always about communication. Whether at home or in the office, we spend hours talking. Whether it’s to others or to ourselves, we never stop.
What is your communication like?

Words can either hurt or empower, destroy or create. You can either brighten someone’s day or make it as dark as night. You get to choose.

Even though you don’t realize it, your intention is not what matters most. It is how your interlocutor feels after you’ve spoken.
Your intention may be to give feedback, but the way you do it may actually make someone feel bad. And this is what they will remember.

They may not remember your words, but they will always remember how you made them feel.

So whenever you speak, think about it.

We produce thousands of words a day. We speak to ourselves too. It’s our inner dialogue or monologue, known also as self-talk.

How do you speak to yourself?

Today I want to invite you to do an exercise. Pay attention to the way you speak to yourself, just for one day. What is the final result?
How does your self-talk make you feel? Is it criticism or empowerment?

You may be surprised when you look at the results at the end of the day.

Whatever the results, don’t despair. There is a way out of bad habits. You get to decide.

Every single time you speak to yourself or others, you have a choice.

If you choose empowerment, then you and I are going to be ok.
Talk to you soon!
